A trio of award wins for Hinterland

The end of 2016 saw Hinterland receiving two more awards, following July’s Scottish Culture Awards win.

October saw us secure Cultural Event of the Year at the Scottish Event Awards, a celebration of the country’s dynamic and growing events sector, with a prestigious judging panel including Josef Jammerbund, Head of Events at the British Fashion Council and Mark Stewart, Senior Events Manager at Event Scotland.

It was an affirming acknowledgement of the efforts of everyone who’s bolstered the public reclamation of the building so far. As one supporter put it, we’re ‘taking on a millstone and carving it into a milestone.’

Winning a Regional Thistle Award for Best Cultural Event in November was a spiriting way to round off a year of overwhelmingly positive and impelling responses.

The Scottish Thistle awards seek out the best of the country’s tourism industry, and are organised by VisitScotland. We’ll be progressing to the National Final in March with the winners of the other five regional programmes.
